Summer Happenings

I have not posted in a while. Lets just say chasing after a 2 year old while prego can be pretty tiring sometimes. Here are a few fun highlights of what we have been up to this summer. I have tried to come up with fun things for Izzie and I to do on my days off. One day I took her to the Beech Creek Gardens where they have a butterfly house. As you can see she enjoyed the outing.

Any opportunity Izzie has to get in the water, she jumps right in.

A few weeks ago we took a trip to New York to visit Adam's family. One day we took the kids to a state park where they have a few big waterfalls you can swim in. Izzie was fearless and jumped right in.

On that same visit in New York, Izzie got her first haircut ever! Yes, I know you must be thinking she is 2 and just got her first haircut? Her aunt Abbie got to give her the haircut. On the topic of firsts, Izzie peed on the potty for the first time in July. We have not had any luck since though, but lots of trying. We are hoping to have her out of diapers by the time baby #2 arrives. Might be trying the weekend potty training method sometime soon. We have some big goals we need to get done with Izzie before baby #2. Potty training, no more binky during naps/at night, and moving her into a big girl bed.

Adam was pretty busy this summer, taking two classes. He did manage to plant/grow another crazy garden! He planted early this year so we have been picking veggies forever. I have already cooked down 2 big pots of tomatoes for soup bases in the winter. I made eggplant parmesan last Sunday with some of our eggplant. And Adam made super crazy hot sauce with the habanero and jalapeno peppers. Those are just a few of the things we have made with items from the garden. This is a typical days pick.
